AYSO Region 83 All Stars

The All Star program is a joint effort of all divisions U10-U14 within Region 83.  Players are selected based on skill, sportsmanship and coach recommendations.  Teams compete within AYSO Area 10Q in Central California and throughout the State.

The program provides an extended soccer season for those who do not have a conflicting commitment.  A player selected for this program has demonstrated skill and aptitude for the sport, a positive and coachable attitude, and good sportsmanship. Players will be provided the opportunity to increase skills and is expected to continue demonstrating good sportsmanship, leadership and team commitment.

 *REMINDER for those who tried out for the 2023/2024 All-Star Teams: Coaches will be making their phone calls AFTER the Ken Claassen tournament. Coaches are NOT allowed to talk about All-Star selections until AFTER the Ken Claassen tournament!!!

• All Star Coach Applications Deadline: Saturday, 10/14 @ 8pm.
  Coach Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed and Voted on by Executive Board
  Coaches will be notified by 10/18/23 if they have been selected.
  
  
• All Star Coach Meeting: Monday 10/23/23 @ 6pm.
• All-star Tryouts (required for coaches to attend): Monday; 10/23 7-8:30 and Wednesday 10/25 7-8:30

All Star Players and Program Details

Tryouts:  All Stars is a great development program for players who want to continue to develop their skills and create long lasting bonds with fellow teammates and coaching staff.  The All Star program has adopted a new approach to the player and coach selection process.  Region 83 will be requiring all prospective All Star players to attend at least one of two tryouts in order to be eligible to play All Stars.  These tryouts will be held on Mon. 10/23 and Wed. 10/25. While we only require a player to attend one of the two, we highly encourage players to attend both tryouts.  

5 Cities AYSO would like to invite all interested players to join us, regardless of skill level. In most cases more than one team per gender and age division is formed so please don't hesitate to tryout.  All we ask is that players try their best and have the desire to learn and develop their soccer skills. 

Player applications are due online by Friday 10/20/23 @ 6pm.

Note: There will be limited paper applications, the all-star committee would prefer that player applications are completed online. 

All Star Commitment: 

Selected players are expected to commit to the entire All Star season. Players who are unable to commit to play in every all-star season tournament may be excluded from the selection process. 

Practice: 2 practices per week during tournament season (with a break for Christmas)

Estimated Cost: $380.00 - Families will be responsible for travel expenses (hotel/food/transportation).

Refereeing: Each all-star team will have the responsibility of supplying 4 qualified, certified referees for each tournament.

Central Coast Classic Tournament: Each parent is required to volunteer to help during Regions 83’s all-star tournament.

**Players are only required to attend one tryout session, yet they are encouraged to attend both if they choose to.

What to Bring: 
1) 2023 Player Application Submitted online OR handed in on the night of tryouts
-Please bring a copy of your online application or written application on the first night of the players try out.

2) Please wear your 2023 regular season jersey.
-You will be able to preview different sizes of the All Star jersey and identify the size you would like to order.

3) Bring a ball (label it please), shin guards (mandatory), shoes/cleats, and water. 

Player Eligibility:

1. Have been registered and played in at least ½ of the eligible league games within the division they are selected for, during regular season, on a Region 83 team.

• Players may be exempt from the ½ season requirement for special circumstances (i.e. soccer related injury, parental custodial soccer rights, change of residence, illness, and conflict with local high school rules CIF)

2.  Any player receiving a red card during regular season may (depending on severity) be disqualified from post-season play and may not be eligible. Approval is by the Post Season Committee.

3.  Attend at least one of the tryout evaluations.

4. Players will be notified if they are selected All-Stars after the conclusion of the Ken Claassen Tournament (end of Regular Season).
